Safdar

Today, I saw a PAF -
Performance arts festival -
So apt and true
We won the PAF,
convincingly.
why not !
after all we showed the life of a man
who, relentlessly, helped the poor,
working man ... (what a great man !)
And to such an extent, that
he got killed for it, for them.
Oh ! that scene when he was killed
what impact ! dead silence in the theatre.
a stunned audience and happy performers.
All are happy that ends well.
And we discussed our Performance
what music, what effects, coordination
everything was perfect, lights, choreo,
everything.
We discuss the "perfect"ness of the falling
shutter, the phone ring,
the goondas, everything,
happy chatter.
The last scene gripped all, us and them,
We said, wow what impact,
all the theatre was silent ...
simply awesome ..
pin drop silence ...
"Dhak Dhak Dhak .... Is anybody listening ?
... Fifty thousand people saw Safdar die
in front of their own eyes, one thousand
people see him now dying ... Thank you"
And
the clamour followed
who can stop the winning performers
from celebrating ?
of course, nobody - because they had won the PAF.

Did we listen ?
Or should we only perform and win ?
Pity on performers who only perform
and I was a part of it too,
a happy performer.
God bless Safdar's soul.
